The ridiculously cold weather has completely rid me of any sense of seasonality. It didn’t even register with me that we’re now officially in March, until one of our awesome brand ambassadors shared her King Cake recipe with me.
One of our ever so fabulously creative ambassadors, Kristin H., has come up with a quick and easy recipe using our biscuits to make the iconic cake for the festivities known as Mardi Gras. Which actually reminded me that we also have another King Cake recipe using our cinnamon rolls that you can find here.
But the best, and most random, thing about King Cakes, is that you’re suppose to nestle a little trinket inside for someone lucky to find! It’s usually a plastic baby, and I wish I knew how they pull something like that off…if you’re planning to bake up your very own King Cake, complete with the hidden treasure, please let me know how it’s done!
You Will Need:
2 cans Immaculate Baking Co.® Flaky Biscuits
Yellow, purple, green sparkling sugar or candy sprinkles
Here’s How to Get the Dough Rolling:
- Heat oven to 350°F. Lay biscuits out in two rows of 8, them mash them all together.
- Roll dough flat and then spread soft butter and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar. Roll it into a long tube and them make it into a circle.
- Bake for about 25 minutes at 350. Let it cool. The icing is powdered sugar, French vanilla extract and milk. Drizzled and topped with the classic Green, Purple and Gold sprinkles.
